Spring feels like it is right around the corner so here are th Problems of the Week from your favorite math learning centre in NW Calgary! Students don't forget to have your solutions in to me by Sunday!
Grade 1-3:
Question: Willy bought a candy bar for 99¢ and a bottle of water for $1.26. If he pays with a $5 bill, what is Willy’s change?
Grade 4-6:
Question: Tiffany arrived at the airport at 3:50PM. Her flight was supposed to leave at 5:15PM, but it was delayed for 2 hours. How long was Tiffany at the airport before her flight left?
Grade 7-9:
Question: There are three candidates for class president. Becky received 25% of the total votes. Charles received 45% of the votes. Daniella received 300 votes. What is the total number of votes in the election?
Grade 10-12:
Question: Gerald can paint a fence in 2 hours. Mandy can paint a fence in 3 hours. How long will it take them to paint a fence together?

I am very impressed with the staff and experience with Mathnasium. I was worried that it would be too loud or noisy for my son with ADHD but that wasn't the case at all. The instructors made an effort to teach him and make sure he understood it, and if he did ask for help they would go to him to make sure. Overall I would recommend them to anyone who needs extra help in Math.

I signed up for Math tutorial class for my son who has few challenges to understand math. After he joins teh Mathnasium program at the country Hills locatoin, he has improved a lot and his math grade today is between 85-100%. I cannot thank enough Dave and his father and all staff members to have a positive impact on my son's life futuer. THANK YOU from the family

Since my son has been going to this program he is so much happier and confident in himself. He comes out of every lesson with a big smile on his face and is so proud of what he can now achieve. David and all the tutors are amazing, cannot recommend this program and location enough. You will not be disappointed in using this program.

The child took tutoring for three months, from the beginning he didn't like it to now he can accept it, and his math has improved, thank you very much! And sometimes due to special circumstances, it is impossible to arrange time for class. Thank you very much for being able to change the time flexibly! Thanks!

We've had our daughter at this place for 3 years now. I've got to say the owner is absolutely amazing! From knowing what our daughter needs, patience, kindness and professionalism. He was so supportive of my daughter with cognitive disability and has been great in her progress. His team is great and highly recommend this place for anyone with or without disabilities and looking to freshen up on their math skills. The one on one sessions with Hayley is top notch and have been using her for most of the lessons.

My son has been going to Mathnasium for about 6 months. When he started he really did not like math and it was always a struggle to get him to do his homework. Since starting with Mathnasium his confidence has grown and his grades have improved significantly. He says that the staff at Mathnasium make math fun and I think this is true testament for how awesome they are. Thank you to Dave and all the staff of Mathnasium!!

My son was really struggling in math. He had a hard time keeping up and understanding the teachers. It was either too fast paced for him or the teachers just didn't have the time to walk through the steps. He appreciated how Dave took the time to explain the solutions and all the steps to get there. My only regret was, I should have started him sooner.

We find that my girl loves going there .a little to early to tell she was going 3 times a week for the last two month's of grade 5 and summer holiday we put her to one day a week and we're away on holidays for some of this so not fair for me to say yet but we will put her back to 3 days a week now she is back in school for the time my girl has bean in mathnasium I think she has gained a lot of confidence we will no more end of grade 6so far for us mathnasium has been great a big thanks to David and his dad daughter and all the graet staff at country hills mathnasium

Mathnasium is great for my kids. They really enjoy the one-to-one sessions as it allows them to do math at their own pace, moving faster in the concepts they are very comfortable with, and spending more time on the concepts they find challenging. Dave is fantastic. He is flexible And very accommodating. He always manages to find a way to keep math interesting for my kids.
