Merlin S

Instructor
Hi! I'm Merlin and I'm a university student pursuing a Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science. I work with Mathnasium because I have always wanted to share my knowledge in math with other students, like how my teachers did with me; I want the students to love math like I do and make it fun for them. After starting to work at Mathnasium, I've learned how much I love working with kids!

Lisa H

Instructor
Hi, I’m Lisa. The reason why I chose to work at Mathnasium is because I love math and want to help kids to see math is very useful and fun. I used to struggled in math when I was in grade 7, but there was a teacher that helped change my attitude and I’ve been enjoying math ever since. I firmly believe everyone can enjoy math if they find a way of learning that is suitable for them. Besides teaching, I enjoy doing volunteer work that helps people live a meaningful and happy life.

Her passion for mathematics brought her to the Mathnasium Team, where she works to help students improve their skills and understanding of the subject, as well as advocate for the importance of mathematics in everyday life. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys volunteering in her community, as well as playing the piano.

Alex H

Instructor
Hi, my name is Alex. I am a student at the University of Calgary currently pursuing a BSc in Chemistry. I like working at Mathnasium as it gives me so much joy working with the students and strengthening their math skills. It makes me so happy when a student makes a revelation in understanding a topic in which they previously had struggled with. In my spare time, I perform as a member of the Stampede Showband and volunteer in my church.

David Michaelis

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
