Dr. Shamir Mukhi

Dr. Mukhi is an energetic individual who is passionate about ongoing pursuit of knowledge. He received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Manitoba as a double gold medalist. He realized his academic passion and quest for advanced learning, and later pursued his Masters degree at the University of Waterloo. He received numerous scholarships including faculty and international graduate scholarships, a research award, and a nomination for excellence in Teaching award. He decided to continue his education and completed a PhD degree at the University of Manitoba in Engineering. Over the past 20+ years, Dr. Mukhi’s technical curiosity has enabled him to be a lead innovator in biosurveillance and public health informatics. Dr. Mukhi is passionate about helping children learn and master math skills in a fun and inspiring environment to support development of critical thinking and logical reasoning. He enjoys spending time with his family watching movies, playing soccer, darts, and camping.

Chad T

Chad is a graduate of the University of Alberta in Statistics and Mathematics. Having seen firsthand how important the individual needs of the student are in proper instruction of mathematics, Chad hopes to utilize the Mathnasium Method to help solve a student's math issues while instilling a lifelong appreciation of math as well. In his free time, Chad is an avid reader, plays a variety of video games, and enjoys trying obscure recipes he finds on the internet.

Matthew T

Lead Instructor
Matthew Tam is a Faculty of Science student at the University of Alberta. He enjoys teaching math and seeing students grow in their mathematical abilities. Matthew hopes that his students will come to a solid understanding of math because he believes it is crucial to their success in the future. Matthew also enjoys watching chemistry videos, gaming, and hanging out with his siblings.

Zia M

Lead Instructor
Zia is a Faculty of Science Honours student at the University of Alberta. He has been an integral part of Mathnasium of WIndermere since its opening. As a lead instructor for elementary and high school, he looks forward to working with students and enjoys teaching math. Zia enjoys watching and playing soccer, video games, and working on restoring cars.

Jessica M

Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Fun fact: Jessica was the only person in my family born in Singapore.  Interest, hobbies: Some of her hobbies include skiing and snowboarding, water sports, painting, swimming, travel, listening to music, and more. 

Hannah M

Lead Instructor
Hannah is a Faculty of Science Neuroscience Honours student at the University of Alberta. As a lead instructor, Hannah provides a caring, nurturing, and positive environment for learning. She loves interacting with students and enjoys teaching math in a way that makes sense. Hannah enjoys reading, painting, and playing soccer.

Sara S

Sara is a student at the University of Alberta - Faculty of Science. Having math be her favourite subject, she always loved discovering new tricks and techniques and applying them to her math problems. Teaching youth and exposing them to the world of math is her passion and she loves it when students are also able to see the various connections you can make in math. In her free time, Sara enjoys cooking, watching movies and spending time with her friends and family.

Harleen P

Lead Instructor
Faculty of Science at the University of Alberta Fun fact- Math has been Harleen’s favourite subject since grade 1. In her free time, Harleen appreciates quality time with family/friends, enjoy watching horror movies, and absolutely loves music.

Brian D

Faculty of Kinesiology/Education at the University of Alberta. Fun Fact: Brian visited every Province except Newfoundland and Labrador during the summer of 2023. Interests/hobbies: football, coaching, piano, golfing, going out with friends, sleeping.
