My 11-year old son loves going to Mathnasium in Waterloo, ON. The owner and all of the staff are very friendly and create a fun and stress-free environment for learning. Students are rewarded with prizes of their choosing as they work their way through their tailored program for achievement. Due to Covid my son was a grade behind in math but Joe and his wonderful team brought him up to grade level within four months. This has increased my son's confidence as he received A's for the first time ever on his report card in math which he's very proud of. It's a great program!

The Mathnasium team set the right environment for kids to sit and remain focused during the session. Kids feel supported and welcomed in the center and they will be interested in attending the sessions.
I also like the assessments at the beginning and the end of the year. They are subject-specific and you can see how much your child(ren) has progressed in each topic.

It’s a great experience with Mathnasium as both my kids are really happy with their sessions and learning lot. Plus I have noticed a quickness to get to solution in my son’s learning.Having said this I’m so glad that my kids are part of Mathnasium as i found them extremely professional plus they’re so well responsive. Whenever I have hard time in any regards the staff was there to help and sort it out. My son shows a lot of excitement and interest in attending Maths classes at Mathanasium.
I think the content of the curriculum, lesson plan and teaching strategies are motivating my son to challenge himself and learn better.
I would definitely recommend enrolling your child here, if you are looking for Fun and enriching learning experience for your child!

Our daughter is happy in Mathenesium and loves to go there, that is big for us because we want her to love math and understand it, it’s not about the grades, it’s about finding joy in something most people hate (numbers). Joe and his team are great and the prizes they offer for achieving results motivate kids a lot!

Mathnasium has been a great place for my teenage son. They are great people that approach math in a way that suits the students' way of learning. He can work with any of the tutors or only one. I recommend Mathnasium regularly to anyone I know who is looking for supports for their child's learning in math.

Mathnasium is a well developed Math learning center, not only for the kids who are struggling to learn the subject, but also for the kids who are very good in Math, Mathnasium can help them to reach their destination. Joe Ritsma and all of his teachers are very caring and try their best to help the students. They listen with great patience, all the students to guide them what is best for them. My son, who did not want to do practice Math, although he liked Math, after joining at Mathnasium, he is now practicing a lot and obviously his grades are changing.

This has been an amazing experience for my child. She enjoyed going and learning. Although we are currently on a pause to accommodate new courses this semester, we will be going back in June to get ready for the fall semester. I highly recommend Mathnasium to anyone looking for either a tweak to get ready for a new year, or for a child who is struggling with math. Well worth every penny!

Joe and the entire staff have been great ! My teen moved to quad semesters during COVID which has resulted in 8 months of no math between grades. My youngest struggled during online . Mathnasium has allowed them to work at their own pace while keeping up with their math skills . We have been very grateful to have the services of Mathnasium in our community . Thanks Joe and team!

My son loves the way he gets attention and support by the tutors at the centre, especially by Joe. the feels safe and confident to do the assigned tasks . Joe and his team in Waterloo have been so supportive and helpful over the last 3 years. Joe readily becomes part of a team to support our son who is in Grade 12. He works with us as parents and the classroom teacher to help fill in gaps, reinforce concepts and provide overall mental support going into math tests. We have seen our son's confidence grow with this approach.

Prior to registering , we spoke with Joe who clearly articulated the program along with expectations . I like how the program is tailored to each child’s specific needs ! We would recommend Mathnasium especially to supplement current school work . I feel with the pandemic , my children have benefited from a bit of extra focus on math .

Hello. I'm Joe Ritsma, Owner of Mathnasium of Waterloo, your neighbourhood math-only learning centre. We help kids in grades 2-12 understand math by teaching the way that makes sense to them.
When math makes sense, kids leap way ahead – whether they started out far behind or already ahead in math. Our formula for teaching kids math, the Mathnasium Method™ has transformed the way kids learn math for over a decade across 1,000+ centres in the US and Canada:
Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting – our unique approach enables us to effectively explain math concepts well and lend a helping hand to every student. Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn!
Mathnasium instructors use our unique assessment process to determine (with great accuracy) exactly what each child knows and what they need to learn. Next, we design a customized learning plan for teaching the concepts the student needs to master. It doesn’t stop there – our encouraging instructors continually check progress along the way to make sure kids truly understand and retain the concepts we’ve taught.
