Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Samantha O'Neil

Assistant Centre Director
Sam is a treasured part of our leadership team at Mathnasium. She is a fully-certified teacher who has obtained a Bachelor of Science in Honours Chemistry and a minor in math, as well as her Bachelor of Education in the intermediate and senior divisions. "There is nothing greater than to see first-hand the progress that a student can make over a few months at Mathnasium. Students are not only learning new skills, but they're also completely redefining their relationship with math. I love helping students develop strong work habits, find joy in math, and work through challenging questions with both creativity and critical thinking. It is such a pleasure to be part of a talented team of instructors and to work in an incredibly positive environment. With quality instruction, consistency and hard work, the sky is truly the limit!"

Jacob Spurdza

Instructor
Jacob is one of our longest tenured instructors at Mathnasium. He is a fully-certified teacher who recently completed his concurrent Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts with a major in history, as well as minors in math and English. Jacob's interests include working outdoors, reading, and binging history documentaries. "To see the joy on a student's face who finally understands and even enjoys learning about a subject that is often stressful or frustrating in school is incredible, and to get to help with that while being surrounded by others who also love teaching math is amazing!"

Kayla Gibson

Instructor
Kayla is an integral part of our Mathnasium instructor team, focusing on primarily on building strong math foundations with our elementary school students. She is currently studying her Concurrent Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts in Honours History with a minor in English. "Mathnasium is an amazing environment for children to explore their love for math!"

Ryan Dallaire

Instructor
Ryan is a valued member of our instructor team who can commonly be found in our high-school section! There is truly something special about helping students learn how to make sense of - and eventually master - high school math. Although Ryan works with our younger learners as well, he has proven time and time again to provide an especially exceptional teaching experience for our high school learners.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
