Centre Director/Owner

Umair Khan, Centre Director/Owner

Umair is the Co-Director at Mathnasium of Oakville.

Umair has a Bachelor of IT and Business, and also E-Commerce Management.  With a heavy emphasis on Math, Umair has always enjoyed solving long and complicated equations. He certainly has seen many changes in the Ontario Curriculum first hand, and can guide others with the right approach.

In his early years in high-school he was part of a club to help others in society. That spirit has come a long way, and he continued to guide others through post-secondary studies as a Peer and  part of the Faculty. He has even provided guidance to others into getting acceptance to their choice of University, by the recommendation of senior Faculty.

Being part of Mathnasium, you can find Umair advising and discussing with the parents about the pros and cons of the approach they are trying to take regarding their child’s academic goals. He firmly believes that every person should be able to achieve and surpass their academic goals, given that they take the right approach.

Larry Martinek, Creator of the Mathnasium MethodLarry Martinek, Creator of the

Mathnasium Method

Larry Martinek, Chief Instructional Officer, Developer of Mathnasium Program.

Larry has spent his entire career finding a better way to teach math. From inner city public schools, to acclaimed magnet schools, to leading private and parochial schools, Larry has served as both a classroom teacher and as an educational consultant. He has designed curriculum, teaching strategies, and teaching materials to help students and teachers learn math more effectively. He has trained teachers in the art and science of boosting students' ability to “do” math, thereby increasing students' math scores and feeling of self-worth. Larry is the developer of Mathnasium’s educational program – one of the most comprehensive and innovative curriculas ever produced for teaching math.

While Larry is not an Instructor at our Centre, he is a valuable asset we can call on to ask about specific students' scenarios for guidance and advice. This has helped to make visits more productive and enjoyable for many of our students.

Ryan, Instructor

Ryan is an OCT certified teacher that received his Bachelor of Science degree in physics as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Ryan has a passion for education and has experience teaching within the public school board. Nassi has a very energetic and patient personality. She enjoys working with students to watch their progress in math, in a friendly, fun, yet disciplined environment. She likes working at Mathnasium Of Oakville, because she finds this method to be a systematic approach for developing a mathematical understanding and thinking structure in students minds.

In her free time, Nassi loves to listen to music, paint, take care of her plants and spend time with her close friends.
