Umair Khan, Centre Director/Owner
Umair is the Co-Director at Mathnasium of Oakville.
Umair has a Bachelor of IT and Business, and also E-Commerce Management. With a heavy emphasis on Math, Umair has always enjoyed solving long and complicated equations. He certainly has seen many changes in the Ontario Curriculum first hand, and can guide others with the right approach.
In his early years in high-school he was part of a club to help others in society. That spirit has come a long way, and he continued to guide others through post-secondary studies as a Peer and part of the Faculty. He has even guided others to getting acceptance to their choice of University, by the recommendation of senior Faculty.
Being part of Mathnasium, you can find Umair advising and discussing with the parents about the pros and cons of the approach they are trying to take regarding their child’s academic goals. He firmly believes that every person should be able to achieve and surpass their academic goals, given that they take the right approach.
Larry Martinek, Creator of the
Larry Martinek, Chief Instructional Officer, Developer of Mathnasium Program.
Larry has spent his entire career finding a better way to teach math. From inner city public schools, to acclaimed magnet schools, to leading private and parochial schools, Larry has served as both a classroom teacher and as an educational consultant. He has designed curriculum, teaching strategies, and teaching materials to help students and teachers learn math more effectively. He has trained teachers in the art and science of boosting students' ability to “do” math, thereby increasing students' math scores and feeling of self-worth. Larry is the developer of Mathnasium’s educational program – one of the most comprehensive and innovative curriculas ever produced for teaching math.
While Larry is not an Instructor at our Centre, he is a valuable asset we can call on to ask about specific students' scenarios for guidance and advice. This has helped to make visits more productive and enjoyable for many of our students.
Neeti has attained a Bachelor in Physics & Astronomy from the University of Waterloo. During her time in university Neeti realised that nothing made her happier than sharing her knowledge of Math through academic support to others. Neeti has volunteered in various classrooms and takes every opportunity to help students and peers develop their Math skills.
Through her passion, Neeti wants to help students understand and appreciate the importance of Mathematics in the modern world. Mathnasium provides the perfect environment in which students can not only learn but excel in Math. Neeti enjoys seeing the students become more confident with their Math skills every time they come in.
Outside of Mathnasium, Neeti enjoys going to Escape Rooms with her friends. Neeti is also a huge coffee lover and plans to try out as many cafés as she can.
