Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. CentreDirectorHua Yi, Co-Owner & Center Director 

Hua is a co-owner and the Centre Director at Mathnasium of McKenzie Towne. Hua has a bachelor’s degree in engineering. She loves mathematics and believes the math is the keystone for all another academic subjects. She is a team player and would like to share her enthusiasm for math with young students. Hua strongly believes Mathnasium of McKenzie Towne is a great organization encouraging the next generation to always enjoy the fun during their math learning progress. In her spare time, Hua loves skiing, gardening, and travelling around the world. 

Mouri Shahabuddin, Co-Owner 

Mouri is proud to be an instructor at Mathnasium of McKenzie Towne. She has always enjoyed Math throughout her school years and is passionate about helping children gain confidence in their math skills. Mouri has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick and she is currently pursuing her MBA at the Haskayne School of Business. Mouri wants to continue teaching math the Mathnasium way as she has noticed the importance of math in everyday life. Outside Mathnasium, she enjoys playing badminton,travelling and spending quality time with friends and family.

 

 Mohiuddin Talukder, Co-Owner 

Mohiuddin (Mo) is a self professed math geek and loves working with children . Mo is committed to teaching kids math in a way that makes sense to them. Mo is a Project Management Professional (PMP)  with a degree in  Computer Science from the University of New Brunswick and enjoys exploring new technologies. In his spare time, he is a pro at table tennis, enjoys networking and travelling.

 

Paul Fish, Asst. Center Director 

Paul obtained his Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and used that education to create software and deliver business solutions involving complex engineering calculations for over 35 years. Today, he enjoys encouraging students in educational pursuits through their development of proficiency and excellence in math, accomplishing that goal through a partnering with parents and the great team at Mathnasium of McKenzie Towne. Outside of work, Paul is active in his local church and takes the family dog for walks along the Bow River.

   

Jordyn, Instructor 

Jordyn has a BSc in Astrophysics and Physics from the University of Calgary.  She has loved math since she was a child and continues to use valuable math skills in her studies.  As an instructor at Mathnasium, Jordyn hopes to share her enthusiasm for math with students and help them understand the role that math plays in everyday life.  In her free time, Jordyn enjoys playing video games, spending time with her cats, and knitting.

 

Charmaine, Instructor 

Charmaine has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Math from the University of Alberta. She enjoyed math from the start, believing that being able to enjoy and master math is important because it is a field that is widely applicable to our everyday lives, and hopes to pass on that passion to others. She is also passionate about the field of social statistics. Her outside interests include languages, watching different kinds of sports and anime, doing crafts, and playing Euro Truck Simulator 2.

 

Angi, Instructor 

Angi is entering her third year at the University of Calgary, majoring in Math and Computer Science. Math is one of her favourite subjects: there are limitless approaches to solve problems. She wants to motivate other students by helping them discover their interest in math and build stronger problem-solving skills. She enjoys playing badminton, spending time with friends, and binge-watching drama episodes.

 

Jayniel, Instructor 

Jayniel has a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary. Since he was young, "Jay" has enjoyed the challenge of solving math and science problems. With a few years of experience tutoring math, Jayniel hopes to help students build confidence in their math skills, important for everyday life. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

 

Florence, Instructor 

Florence is attending the University of Calgary studying biomedical sciences and pursuing her passion for health science. She loves math and believes that having an understanding of mathematics is important, playing a prominent place in everday life. In her free time, Florence enjoys reading, spending time with her puppy and watching movies.

 

Aidan, Instructor 

Aidan is a student currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Math at the University of Calgary. He believes that there is more to learning math than just rote memorization and calculation; there is an elegance of communication and creativity in problem-solving. He is passionate about getting this across to his peers and students. Aidan is also interested in learning to code, reading and playing video games.

 

Nicole, Instructor 

Nicole has a BSc in Earth System Science from McGill University and minored in Mathematics.  Math has always been one of her favourite subjects and she enjoys applying the problem solving skills in real life. Helping students achieve the satisfaction of solving and understanding a math problem is very fulfilling for her. Some of her other interests include traveling, skiing, arts and crafts, and reading.

 

Anas, Instructor 

Anas is in his final year at Henry Wise Wood H.S. He plans on pursuing a computer science degree in university. He loves mathematics and, from an early age, has been interested in gaining a higher level of understanding in math. Anas hopes to help students build basic math skills that will help them throughout life. In his free time, Anas loves to go to the gym or play basketball.

 

Lucia, Instructor 

Lucia is currently in her first year at the University of Calgary studying neuro-science. She has always had a passion for math and hopes to incorporate math in her future endeavors. Lucia aspires to aid students in finding their love for math. During her free time, she enjoys taking dance classes, listening to music, and watching movies.
