High School: Tight Budgets and Affordability

Tight budgets and affordability
The pandemic and the resultant public health restrictions put stress on the financial viability of many businesses and families. Government assistance allowed many to get though the crisis but times remain difficult. We experienced the pressures, too.
As restrictions lessened, we were able to reopen our facility to allow for in-person instruction, though still with physical distancing and stricter protocols. Alberta intends to reopen schools for student classes in September. Now is the time to start getting help for students in math but parents are asking themselves, “can we afford it?”
Earlier this year, we added 9-month and 12-month terms to our flexible programs. They lower monthly fees by $20 and $50 respectively when compared to a 6-month term – potentially saving $600 annually.
We are also offering a number of back-to-school promotions starting on August 1:
- Substantial discounts on one-time registration fees for families enrolling a student for the first time, reducing or potentially eliminating the cost of entry
- Substantial discounts on the first month’s fee for returning families re-enrolling a student
Check out the “Promotions” tab on our website for details.
Our Summer Sessions Program offers 6 sessions for the same price as 4 sessions during the regular school year. It’s a great deal but only offered during July and August.
For those families with students going into Grade 10, if you enroll before August 31, you will lock into a program fee at the lower grade level. This alone could save you anywhere from $20 to $360, depending on the type of program and term length.
Mathnasium@home offers students the ability to remotely receive the same math instruction from our staff using a face-to-face videoconferencing platform with a shared whiteboard. Students can choose to have their sessions on-line or in-Centre, whichever is convenient at the time. A week of free sessions is provided to give you confidence in the technology and method of instruction delivery before making a financial commitment.
As always, we offer an assessment of your child’s math skills without financial risk. That can be conducted either in person at our Learning Centre or on-line using Mathansium@home. Book your assessment using this link.
