Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Jayme

Instructor
Jayme is currently working towards completing her Bachelors degree in Gender Studies with a certificate in ASL at the University of Victoria. She is then planning to continue her studies at a Canadian law school. Jayme has always enjoyed math because it requires problem solving and it is rewarding when you solve a difficult question. Her favorite thing about being an instructor is helping students understand a topic they find challenging. In her free time, Jayme enjoys climbing, running, hiking and baking.

Darrell

Centre Director
Darrell is a retired school principal and math teacher with 34 years of experience. He has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University. He has a passion for teaching students as well as for mathematics. He believes that the Mathnasium way of teaching math allows students to develop a strong foundation of mathematics skills and reasoning through the many processes and efficient techniques which will allow math to make sense to students. Darrell continues to play soccer in the South Vancouver Island Soccer Association. His other hobbies include traveling, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
