Meet the Team at Mathnasium of Killarney

Atina

Atina is an international student from Bangladesh majoring in Biochemistry at the University of Calgary. Since grade 9, she started tutoring math to junior high students and eventually tutored her own classmates in her final year of high school. Fun fact about Atina - when the results of her calculus class were published, her students got an A and she ended up with a B! She is pursuing her studies in Canada to learn in a more diverse environment and hopes to implement all those lessons back in Bangladesh. Her goal is to establish a lab back in her home country which has all the advanced technologies and is more involved in gene therapy and stem cells. Aside from being a math tutor and studying, Atina loves to travel and learn the history/significance behind all the cities/landscapes. Lastly, she loves to do astrophotography as she has a great interest in astronomy. She is loving her new role as a Math Instructor at Mathnasium of Killarney and is excited to meet and work with new students!

Nathan

Nathan is a University of Calgary student specializing in Finance. He completed high school in the AP program to give him an early start on his post-secondary education. With such ambition, he has excelled at math and has been a valuable addition to the Mathnsium of Killarney team. He decided to be a math tutor because it helps others develop their analytical skills so they break down math problems into bite size pieces. Nathan likes to connect with others and give back to the community by volunteering at the Calgary Food Bank. He also enjoys being active in the mountains whether he is skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer. We're excited to have Nathan make a difference in young people's lives as a Math Instructor at Mathnasium of Killarney!

Roya

Roya is passionate math instructor with over 20 years of experience teaching high school mathematics in Iran. She firmly believe that with the right approach, anyone can excel in mathematics and that's why she is so happy to be part of the Mathnasium of Killarney team. Like our students, she echoes that the methods used to taugh are truly a great way to understand and grow one's math knowledge and ability. She is dedicated to teaching math to the best of her abilities using her spare time to review materials. Roay's kindness and patience makes her a fantastic math teacher who is dedicated to helping students succeed in math.

Sehba

Sehba is a student majoring in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Calgary who is minoring in Digital Engineering. She has loved mathematics since childhood and is keen to teach children how mathematics relates to daily life. She also taught math to students throughout high school including helping them prepare for exams. Her studies continue to enhance her knowledge in math and she hopes she can use these skills to teach students at Mathnasium of Killarney.

Janet

Janet has recently arrived to Calgary and completed her post-graduate diploma in Education. She was a teacher in Hong Kong and found it to be the most meaningful and amazing experience. She sees education, especially Math education, as a gift to students as it supports logical reasoning and analytical thinking, which enables children to see the world from different perspectives. Janet is devoted to making a difference to students and has worked with all sorts of special educational needs, such as dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, emotional disorder or learning disabilities. Janet is excited to be working with Mathnasium of Killarney and making a difference in students' lives.
