Anita Cui, Centre Director/Owner
Anita is the Owner/Centre Director at Mathnasium of Guildford. She received a Master Degree of Communication Arts in Canada. Anita has always had a passion for education and learning new things in science and mathematics. She has over 20+ years of great experience in tutoring K-12 students.
Anita is enthusiastic about helping every child in the Guildford community to truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. Her experience with education and mathematics is quite extensive, and is excited to help all the kids here reach their fullest potential in math.
The Mathnasium method is a unique and fun way for children to learn math. Mathnasium's approach helps children internalize patterns and the beauty of nature, helps them make sense not only of math but also of the world around them. Anita's passion and goal is to relieve each child's struggle with math so they can excel and choose any path in life they desire.
Alaina is a 3rd year student at McGill University studying Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has always loved working with kids ever since she was 16 when she started working at Summer Camps. She has never stopped working with kids ever since then. After finishing her International Baccalaureate diploma including higher level IB Mathematics in high school, she knew math was no easy feat. And that’s why she is here to help many other students to acquire the math skills they need for success!
Catherine is currently studying Anatomy and Cell Biology at McGill University. She has experience working with students through various afterschool homework club, such as helping and guiding them through their math homework. She enjoys interacting with kids and sparking their interests. With more practice, Catherine believes that complex math problems will become fun and easy to solve!
Edison is a second year student at UBC, and is doing a combined honours program in Biochemistry and Forensic Sciences. He has been interested in mathematics since a young age, and has spent countless hours throughout highschool studying, prepping and writing math contests. In 2018, he placed top 75 for the Fermat contest in Canada, and was invited to an all-expense paid trip to Waterloo for a week long math camp. He hopes to share his passion for mathematics with others and help children develop an interest and a curiosity for mathematics through tutoring in an engaging and interesting way.
Eric is currently a third-year computer science student enrolled in SFU. He loves working with children and helping them build a strong fundamental for math. He hope he can spread math knowledge to children with all backgrounds.
Vincent is a sophomore at the University of Toronto, where he studies financial economics and math. As such, he thoroughly understands the frustrations that come along with studying and learning new mathematical concepts. He hopes to use his experience to make math more relaxing and less stressful.
William is in his final year in high school at St. George's School. Ever since his peers have come to him for math-related problems, William has immensely enjoyed teaching others and found a passion for tutoring. He hopes to bring this passion to Mathnasium and to facilitate others' learning of math. Outside of tutoring, William can be found attending MUN conferences, watching youtube, or playing his violin. He is looking forward to meeting you at Mathnasium!
Vanna studies Managing for Sustainability and Computer Science at McGill University. Growing up, her favorite subject in school was math and loved helping others with their math problems. She also loves teaching and understands the struggles with understanding math concepts. She is excited to help make math easier for you at Mathnasium!
