Our Team

Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Kate Murray, Owner

Kate is an experienced educator, who believes in the value of a good education. Having been a class room teacher, a Learning Strategist, and the Director of Teaching and Learning at an Independent school in Toronto, Kate knows how important a solid foundation in Math is. There are no quick fixes for math, which is why she believes in the Mathnasium Method. An expert in her field, Kate has worked with hundreds of kids to help them become CRAZY about math. Come by the Centre to see how your child could become CRAZY about math too!  

Leah Hurtubise, Education Director

Leah is an experienced educator and has been with Mathnasium for almost 10 years. She has worked both as a classroom teacher and curriculum specialist, and has held various roles in our Mathnasium organization. Leah strives to be a positive influence in students' lives and hopes to continue to inspire them to learn and grow as individuals here at Mathnasium! Leah loves to travel, get outdoors with her dog, and spend time with family and friends!

Emma Bisnaire, Membership Director

Emma has been with the Mathnasium family since February 2016 and has held various roles in the organization including: Instructor, Assistant Director and Centre Director for our Leaside location. She studied Math and Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto, and then completed her Project Management certification at Ryerson University. Emma is always looking for new restaurants to discover around the city. She enjoys good company, good food and good music! Making math make sense to kids is absolutely the most rewarding part of her day!

Alison McKean, Online Director

Alison has been a part of the Mathnasium family since 2015. She moved to Toronto to pursue a degree in Accounting and Finance. She has a passion for mathematics and science, and loves working with children! She has grown in her role over the years holding positions at both our Forest Hill and Leaside locations including: Instructor, Team Leader, and Centre Director. Aside from helping kids foster a love of math. Alison enjoys baking, travelling and listening to music.
