Our Team

Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn! Read below to learn more about our talented team:

CentreDirectorDaisy Pardhan, Centre Director

Daisy Pardhan is the Owner and Director of the Crowfoot Mathnasium and Calgary North. Daisy graduated from University of Alberta in 2006 with a Bachelor of Education. She taught in Calgary classrooms for 6 years and then branched into the Educational Software industry-Mathletics.  Utilizing this experience, Daisy was able to understand firsthand the disconnection between the teaching methodology in many classrooms and how students processed the curriculum. Her experience in the Educational technology space, specifically math software, allowed her to clearly understand the missing pieces and the notion that “one size does not fit all”.  Daisy was captivated by the Mathnasium method and stated, “We use a personalized learning approach as each child processes and interprets math differently."

Daisy’s 3 main goals at this learning centre are:

  • Breaking free of the fixed mindset. Children have a preconceived notion that math is hard. Mathnasium breaks through this wall, enabling children to understand the various types of mathematical strategies.
  • Creating a customized learning environment for each child, resulting in self satisfaction within their learning.
  • Providing children with a calm pleasant environment, allowing them to believe math does not have to be frustrating but enjoyable!

jera Guevarra

Jera Guevarra, Assitant Centre Director

Jera is an aspiring teacher who recently graduated with a B.Sc. in General Mathematics from the University of Calgary. During her early years of education, like most kids, she’s very doubtful about the importance of learning math, but as the years went by, she came to love it and realized the significance of it in our daily lives. Outside her mathematical endeavours, she also has a minor in Japanese and can speak 3 languages fluently. She enjoys indoor and outdoor activities such as, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, working out and hiking. She also has a passion on doing mission trips, volunteering and traveling.

He has always had a passion for learning, and the puzzling nature of mathematics has made it his favourite subject. He is following in the footsteps of his father, who taught high school math in Ontario for almost 30 years. From BEDMAS to Trigonometry, Fractions to Imaginary Numbers (it’s okay, he doesn’t fully understand them either), Mike has always found enjoyment and success in the field of mathematics. Mike is also an avid singer, having sung with Revv52 in Calgary since the fall of 2015.

Jadyn Herperger, Instructor

Jadyn is currently a student at the University of Calgary, enrolled in the Concurrent General Mathematics and Education program. She appreciates math and believes that teaching students about its many real world applications and how to support their understanding of different mathematical concepts, but spark their interest in different fields to allow them to pursue passions of their own. Her other interests include true crime and astronomy. Given the opportunity she would love to get to travel around the world teaching and learn a second language.

Maryam Lo, Instructor

Maryam graduated from the University of Calgary within Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology program. While in high school, math has always been one of her favorite subjects. As she focuses mostly on biology these days, she still finds herself missing the beauty of mathematics! To stay connected to math, Maryam volunteered at the Calgary library in their Math Quest program for a year before finding out about the math universe of Mathnasium. Now she can pursue both of her Biology and Math Interest. In her free time Maryam loves to bake, play tennis and volunteer.
