Inasse Salloum

Centre Director
Inasse has two young children and is a passionate math and physics teacher with an undergraduate degree in General Physics and a Master of Education from the University of Ottawa. As a teacher, her ambition is to share her passion for math with others while believing that math is the language through which the universe speaks to us. Inasse's goal for her students is that they develop a deeper understanding of mathematics in a way that gives the joy of knowledge. Inasse teaches math and science from elementary through Grade 12. She continues to help students succeed and develop their self-esteem and good study skills. At Mathnasium, Inasse does her best to support and help all students believing that every child can succeed in math if given the right tools and a passionate teacher. When it comes to teaching math, Inasse strives to make the subject not only understandable, but interesting and engaging.

David Ku

David Ku, Online Administrator
David has a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Mathematics and a Master of Science In Statistics. Before Mathnasium, he worked as a peer tutor and as a mathematics teaching assistant for high school students and for first year university students. He has experience teaching a variety of math subjects, including calculus, linear algebra, introductory statistics, and introduction to mathematics for finance. David’s approach to teaching mathematics is to keep things simple and to be aware of multiple approaches to solve math problems. He knows that each student is unique, so David always comes equipped with differentiated instruction techniques to ensure that students learn the math in a way that makes sense to them. In his spare time, David likes to cook, watch Counter-Strike on Twitch.tv, and do classes at his fitness kickboxing gym.

Instructors

At Mathnasium, our primary prerequisites for instructors are to be excellent at math, to interact well with children, and to be able to teach exceptionally. Our instructors include certified math teachers, university graduates of math, physics, aeronautical engineering, computer science, and statistics. We find that children are inspired by those who have taken their math knowledge and are looking to apply it in the real world. Our instructors become role models to our students, showing them that math doesn't have to be intimidating and can be fun. We have even had younger students express their goal of wanting to be a Mathnasium instructor and help kids learn math when they grow up. I don't think it is saying too much that Mathnasium instructors change lives, helping students to achieve their full potential, and encouraging them to embrace math instead of giving up on it.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
