Mariya

Centre Director and Lead Online Math Instructor, Core Value Leader

Mariya has a B.A. in Psychology from SFU. She fills Mathnasium with positivity, laughter and lots of "ah ha!" moments. She joined us in September 2017 and began leading our Digital Learning Team in January 2020. Outside of work you'll find her either listening to the newest Disney sound track or binge watching Harry Potter (again!) Her office door is always open, come say hi! She won a staff award in Q4 for her diligence and tenacity towards excellence in everything she does!

Hem

Centre Director and Lead Secondary Math Instructor

Hem has Masters Degrees in Finance & Accounting, spent several terms teaching at SFU and has worked with us since April 2023. His favourite thing about working at Mathnasium is seeing the student's confidence grow and finding new ways to make learning math fun and engaging: "It's never too late to develop a love for math!" When he's not working he enjoys relaxing with yoga and reading books.

Sandi

Assistant Centre Director & Lead Math Instructor Elementary, Core Value Leader

Sandi graduated with an IB certificate in Math and Chemistry and a B.SC from SFU with the goal to become a Secondary Science teacher. "I like seeing the students look forward to playing math games and having fun while learning. Mathnasium's way of teaching encourages students to really know the math, rather than just memorizing it." She joined our team in September 2018 and won a staff award in Q4 for her contributions towards an outstanding teamwork environment. She teaches both in-centre and online.

Cassie

Elementary Math Instructor, Core Value Leader

Cassie is a 4th year student in History and Business at UFV. She loves helping students turn struggles into confidence when it comes to math! She won a staff award in Q4 for her caring approach to students. She joined our Team in December 2020.

Ethan

Online Math Instructor, Core Value Leader

Ethan is studying physics at UBC and really enjoys teaching math. "It's better to teach the math so that I can really understand it myself!" He joined our team in August 22 and won a staff award in Q4 for his enthusiastic and caring interactions with students. He teaches both in-centre and online.

Seema

High School Math Instructor, Core Value Leader

Seema is an Engineering graduate who chose to play with numbers rather than machines! "I'm passionate about mentoring young kids and helping them learn to solve complex puzzles." She has several years experience tutoring math overseas and joined our team in November 2021. She won a staff award in Q2 for her excellent contributions to the team.

Lavender

Online Math Instructor, Core Value Leader

Lavender is completing a Bachelor's of Technology in Forensic Science through BCIT. She won a staff award in Q1 for her contributions towards our student's learning excellence online. Her laughter resonates wherever she is. She joined our team in September 2022.

Dev M

Elementary Math Instructor, Core Value Leader

Dev is in her second year of Health Sciences at SFU. She really appreciates the sense of personal and collective professional growth she experiences at Mathnasium. But she is thrilled to see how the students grow in confidence and skills. "I love knowing that I'm a part of that!" She joined us in Aug '21 and won a staff award in Q2 for her efforts to be a great role model!

Valerie

Administrative Assistant

Valerie loves living in Langley and is heavily involved with her kids' PAC. She joined our Team in September 2022. When she's not working she likes to knit, bake bread and spend time outside with her family. She is proud to work for a small business in her community!

Julian

Math Instructor

Julian has an M.A. in Linguistics from TWU. He appreciates bringing real life contexts to the math he teaches here. He joined out team in January 2021.

Krishnaja

Math Instructor

Krishnaja is studying Bio-Medical Physiology at UBC, then she hopes to go to medical school. Her years of experience with us make her an important part of the training team for new instructors. She joined us in March 2020.

Maria

Elementary Math Instructor

Maria graduated in June 2023 from Langley Fundamental Secondary. She loves the fast-paced team teaching environment here. She joined the team in January 2023.

Stella

Online Math Instructor

Stella is a first year Political Science major at McGill University. She started with us as a student in Grade 7 and quickly rose to the top of her class! She's worked for us since August 2022 and now will teach online, after being an online student herself for 3 years! Her enthusiasm for math and teaching follows her from student to student.

Nira

Elementary Math Instructor

Nira enjoys teaching the variety of math that she gets here. "It keeps the job interesting!" She started with us as a grade 10 student but came on staff in January 2021 after excelling in every math course she took. She teaches both in-centre and online.

Georgette

Online Math Instructor

Georgette is finishing a Math Major at SFU. "I love the way we get to make math fun for kids!" She joined the team in April 2022.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
